Jo Club News

Hello Pieceful Quilters,

We have received word from Jo that the new club is ready for us to order. We are still contemplating our next move. Here are Jo's new quilts from the next Club:

Sorry the picture is a little fuzzy, but you get the idea. So, in the last couple of months we have been doing some of our own quilts, while Jo was busy with a sick mother. Deb and I have done some quilts using Jo fabrics and our own patterns. This month Deb designed this one called Crossed Paths:
We would welcome any input on what you guys would like to see us do with Jo Club. Just email me, stop by, or call the shop. We don't want to completely give up on Jo Club, since we still adore every fabric she comes out with, but we want to do whatever would make our Jo Club members, or future members, the most happy.

There are a lot of different ways we could go with this, and we are really stuck. So, please let us know what you think.

Thanks - Carrie

New Patriotic Jo Kits!

Hello Pieceful Quilters,

I just wanted to tell you about our three patriotic Jo kits. One is this great quilt from Rememberences called, "Rallye Round the Flag." Isn't it wonderful? Quick and easy, and the kits are only $19.99! You can make several before the 4th!

Next, due to popular demand, we have re-made a few Fairfax County Fair kits:

This is the quilt Deb is using for her Triangle Technics class. She will show several techniques for making half square triangles, and you can choose your favorite to make this beautiful quilt.

The third kit will be introduced next week at Jo Club. I can't divulge too much, but it would make a great table runner or wall hanging. Be sure to come and see it during or after Jo Club next week!
????????

We will also be showing some other summery and patriotic projects at our FREE Seasonal Sampler Demo, which takes place right before Jo Club.
Be there - Aloha!

Jo Club and More....

Hello Pieceful Quilters,

Yes - the corniness just never ends. If I get too nauseating, feel free to let me know.

I want to show you some of the cool things we have been working on in the shop. I get such a charge out of seeing my teachers design their own projects and come out with their own patterns. I feel just like a proud mother or something.

As many of you know, Jo Morton's next club is not quite finished yet. Somehow we always seem to be ahead of her. So, once again, we are filling the gap on our own. In the past we have done several things to fill in, and this time Deb has decided to create a few of her own designs using Jo's fabrics. This month's quilt is adorable:

Deb calls this quilt X's and O's. Can you see the O's? It looks even cuter in person. We have kits and patterns available for this cute little quilt.

Another new teacher with us is Jean Mueller. She has been designing for us for a little while, but now she is teaching, too. She did this month's patriotic demo, and the three quilts she designed are just wonderful. The first one was a free pattern handout for those that attended the demo, but you can purchase it at the front counter for $2.00. We have several kits left, and the pattern is included.

These next two are both included in the same pattern and kit. The smaller one (the second one - it's much smaller than it looks in the picture) is made from the leftover pieces of the large one. Such a Deal!

Finally, I have actually finished a little quilt and pattern myself! I used the Worn & Loved line, and I love the way it turned out. We have it in the frame we used for the last Lori Smith "Fit to Frame" quilt. We put together some kits, and the pattern is also available seperately. I called it Magic Carpet Ride:

We have a couple of other kits in various stages of completion, so stop by soon to see what's new!

Hope to see you soon!

Fairfax County Patriotic Quilt

Wow - Deb made up this gorgeous quilt using Jo Morton's Free Download pattern. It turned out so much prettier than the picture on the Andover website. She will be using it in her Triangles class next session - I bet that one is going to fill up fast!

Don't forget - Early Discount Registration Day is this Saturday, April 4th.

See you there - Carrie

Seneca Shirtings from Jo Morton

At last we have received Jo Morton's Senaca Shirtings. I was beginning to wonder if they had lost our order. Just as I was going to call, they arrived. Although they are not real typical of Jo's usual dark, rich looking fabrics, they will work really well with a lot of our other reproductions. If you were at my Snippet Stew demo last month, you will want to get a bundle of these for "Stewed at the Cabin." They will be perfect!

Jo Club News

Hi Everyone!

We had Jo Club last night and it was a lot of fun! I just want to share the quilt we did for the new Jo Club 8. It was supposed to be a Patriotic Strippy that looked something like this:

But I had been wanting to do something with the brown stars, so we used the fabric from the new Providence line and did ours like this:

I was really happy with the way it turned out. If you are a memeber of Jo Club, you can do this quilt, too!

I also wanted to share the beautiful signature quilt the club members gave me:

I am not really sure what I did to deserve this, but it sure made me feel good. Thanks to everyone that participated!
If you have been thinking about signing up for Jo Club for the Spring session, you should know that we have lots of neat stuff planned. We will continue with the remaining 2 quilts in Club 8:

Holiday Inn and Meg's Baskets

We will be doing ours in different colors, again, and we won't be doing kits anymore, since we are not able to sell the extra ones outside of the club anymore. Instead, we will have fat quarters cut in the colors that we used, along with some alternatives that you may wish to use to create something different. Of course, you can make yours from any fabric you wish to use, and you will continue to get a 15% discount on any Jo Morton fabric you purchase on Jo Club night.

We have had one other change since the newsletter went out. Kathy has told us that due to some health issues with her family, she is not able to give Jo Club the attention that she would like, so she is going to take some time off from being the leader. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

In the meantime, Deb Walker has agreed to lead the club for this session and beyond if needed. She is an excellent quilter and a wonderful crafter, too. She has lots of ideas for nifty little extras we can do in Jo Club using the wonderful Jo fabric that we all love.

If you are thinking about joining, and you haven't already paid in advance for the Club 8 patterns, please sign up and order the patterns as soon as possible so that I can be sure to have them available for you at the January meeting.

Thanks - Carrie
