Retreat 2011

Hello Pieceful Quilters,

Our first retreat was a resounding success!  The retreat center was perfect, comfy rooms, a roomy meeting room and (most important) great food!  Kathy Tracy did an interesting talk about doll quilts and a great show & tell of many of her quilts from all of her books.  Then on Saturday she taught us the Union Stars quilt from her new book, "The Civil War Sewing Circle."  Most of us got at least a few blocks finished, and I am hoping to see several of the finished quilts in our Annual Quilt Show in August.  Here are some pictures from the retreat.

Ellen wins the album quilt that we made - isn't it gorgeous?

 A Happy Group!

Judy shows one of Kathy's quilts that she made in a previous class.

Lynn Ray and Leanne Pottebaum - working hard!

Mary shows off another quilt from "The Civil War Sewing Circle."

Jill with two of her finished blocks

Deb hard at work on her craft show goodies.  Guess what - she didn't get this fabric at Pieceful Gathering.  I know - you are all very surprised.

Susan shows off her finished Pieceful BOM - It is always nice to see things get finished!  Especially since I rarely get my own things done!

The retreat is over, but we are already planning for next year's retreat.  It will be the weekend of March 9th, so mark your calendars now!

Happy Quilting!

Carrie
